Bondi encompasses three main locales including Bondi, Bondi Junction and the famous Bondi Beach. Diverse in demographics and in cultural backgrounds, Bondi is known for its’ eclectic mix of cafes, boutique & specialty shopping and for an incredible expanse of beach side living. Tourists’ flock to Bondi Beach and it is no surprise we have TV exports including Bondi Rescue, Bondi Vet and is known to be a popular spot for celebrities. Bondi beach is home to the cool skate park, Bondi Flika Fest and the heritage listed Bondi Pavilion – a cultural melting pot of festivals and exhibitions – not to mention it is the start of the Bondi Coastal Walk.

Moving away from the beach to the Junction you can find the flagship Westfield twin building home to haute couture shopping and is also a hub for organic healthy living food shops and a wide selection of yoga shalas and gymnasiums. In between the two the locales of the Beach and Junction, Bondi, shares the same feel of boutique food, clothing & home wares store with its scattered commercial villages and parklands.

"Bondi" or "Boondi" is an Aboriginal word meaning “water breaking over rocks” or “noise of water breaking over rocks”. The Australian Museum records that Bondi means “place where a flight of nullas took place”. In 1809, the road builder William Roberts received a grant of land in the area.
In 1851, Edward Smith Hall and Francis O'Brien purchased 200 acres (0.81km2) of the Bondi area that included most of the beach frontage, which was named the "The Bondi Estate." On 9 June 1882, the beach Bondi became a public beach.
